One thing that is coming up a lot lately is the question about Chiropractic and children. “Why would a child need to go to a Chiropractor if they don’t have back pain?” Well, why should ANYONE go to a Chiropractor? That should be the real question. Don’t children deserve health just as much as an adult? Would we deny a child a healthy organic meal because it costs more than McDonalds? Absolutely not.
The reason why anyone should be going to the Chiropractor is simply to remove the interference between the Mind, Body, and Soul and allow the body to do the healing. We, as Chiropractors, are simply mediators between you and your health. Children should be getting adjusted straight out of the womb to allow their bodies to process all of the interferences in their environment and allow their light to shine as bright as possible. We want to have children adjusted early to prevent any hardships in the future. It’s that simple.
When I hear of a Medical Doctor, PT, or any other health professional bad mouthing Chiropractic when it comes to children it just makes me cringe. I would never tell you to not send your child or yourself to another health professional if I don’t know much about it. I would first research it before I gave my opinion. In fact, I would talk to the professional and get to know them and their profession and establish a relationship before I gave my opinion.
If you are interested or curious in Chiropractic with Children or Chiropractic in general, please give me a call at (415) 383-0904 or shoot me an email at ian@revolutionmbs.com. I would much rather be your friend and partner in health than a foe.

Nice to see you blogging!
Comment by Brandon Harshe April 22, 2009 @ 11:01 amI had all 3 of my children adjusted after birth. My first 2 were c-sections and literally pulled out and my VBA2C was also ‘pulled on’. Too much interference! They all needed to be adjusted. As a matter in fact, my first baby needed it a lot! I can’t imagine what her health would have been like without chiropractic! Keep spreading this message…it is very important!
Comment by January Harshe May 1, 2009 @ 6:12 pmThere is no good evidence that chiropractic is effective for the conditions claimed by the British Chiropractic Association [children’s colic, sleeping and feeding problems, ear infections, asthma and prolonged crying].
Comment by wendell December 11, 2009 @ 8:33 amChiropractic can be use by a baby only if the one who is going to perform it is a professional chiropractic practitioner. Because we all know the chiropractic treatment is very sensitive.
Comment by chiropractor louisville December 11, 2009 @ 8:35 amI know that this might put some Chiropractors up in arms, but I somewhat agree with you. Chiropractors don’t TREAT anything. What we do is simply correct subluxations. I don’t claim to treat colic, asthma, sleep conditions, etc. in my own practice, but I do claim to correct subluxations using Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic. But, what I don’t agree with is the “no good evidence” part. I would like to refer you to http://www.icpa4kids.com (which is the doctor’s site with research) and http://www.icpa4kids.org (the parent’s site). There IS tons of evidence that these things that you mentioned do correct themselves when kids are under care. I see it all of the time in my practice. I see colic, feeding issues, sleeping issues, attention issues, etc., all day long and after giving these children one simple adjustment to the upper part of the neck where the Brainstem is housed, these things start to go away.
