A Little Late, But a Step in the Right Direction

Reports were released about how the Food and Drug Administration are now voting on a ban of Vicodin and Percocet due to an increase of liver damage and even death because to excessive use.  Even though these medications can be helpful in pain reduction and easier on the stomach than other pain relievers, they have some very harmful side-effects, one being death.  Unfortunately, these are the two most popular drugs being prescribed for pain and the two most commonly abused pain relievers.

As I was reading this report, it occurred to me that a lot of Americans are on these drugs and it seems like there is a new drug every week that treats a new symptom that we for some reason never noticed that we had until the commercial on the TV said we did.  Then it occurred to me that I am constantly reading reports of new drugs being taken off the shelves do to crazy side-effects such as death.  Then, my final thought came, that these drugs don’t even get to the CAUSE of the pain, they only mask the pain.  Why are we so eager to treat the SYMPTOM instead of the CAUSE?  Why is it so easy to take a prescription from your Medical Doctor, but it’s so difficult to take vitamins or supplements or to get a quick check from your Chiropractor?  How come there seems to be a new medication for a new symptom every week and then a few months later that symptoms is once again unheard of and we are onto a new symptom?  And, lastly, why are we self diagnosing from television commercials and why is the Medical Profession okay with this?

I want you to ask yourself these questions.  If this doesn’t relate to you, I guarantee that you know someone who it does relate to.  If that’s the case, I encourage you to inspire yourself or the person you know to go talk to their local Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractor and see if it’s the right fit.

Thank you for being an inspiraton!

So if pharmaceutical companies are teaching people how to self-diagnose themselves from commercials, it seems to me that would make some MDs legal drug dealers. What an upstanding profession to be in. Glad I missed the boat on that one.
